If life would calm down it would be wonderful but at this point in my life I think it is just going to keep going full speed ahead.

Summer is over and I was so silly to think that it would calm down a little bit so I could get caught up on a lot at the store but not so.  I'm glad I am busy but I just wish I could get caught up.

I've been getting in so many new beads that at this point I don't even know what is new!  I say I'm not going to order any beads until I get caught up and the next thing I know the phone is in my hand and I'm ordering beads!  I'm sure at this point someone has taken over my body because it truly could not be me ordering more beads when I don't even have all of them out from the last shipment or even the last few! Please take my phone and computer away from me for at least a week so I can get caught up!  New Beads  this is not really up to date as I have beads in a holding pattern to take pictures of and post on my website, but as Dory would say just keep on swimming, keep on swimming!  I have the girls singing this in the shop now.

CR Radding will be here the fist of October to teach some wonderful classes, I can't wait for her to get here we always have so much fun!

These are some pictures of the classes she will be teaching.  I have some fun classes coming up if you want to check them out.  Classes

Some of the new beads that came in are the aged stripe beads and I've been having fun crocheting them into a necklace, well I say crocheting but it is really just a chain stitch.  It takes longer to string the beads on than it does to chain them into a necklace.  If you want to know how to do this just stop by the shop and we will show you.
I always say I will try to blog more and then I never do so this time I will just say that I will write again when I can and carry my camera around with me so I can get pictures of the beads in piles on the table so you can get a glimpse of them all over the table.

Oh, another fun bead is the 2-Hole stud beads, I made a wrap bracelet with them and then a project came out in Bead and Button using them.  They really are beautiful beads and there is a lot you can do with them.
Now I will say goodnight and sweet dreams to everyone!
Love, Kandra

Projects By Kerrie Slade...

Kerrie Slade is a wonderful designer and bead artist and a good friend, every time we talk she is busy beading something new.  I thought it would be great to share some of her new projects with you, some are free from Bead & Button and some of them are in a new magazine called Digital Beading Magazine.  If you want the projects in the Digital Beading Magazine you will have to buy them but I think the price is great at $4.95 per issue or a 6 issue subscription for $24.95.  I will add pictures and links for all of you to check out the new projects.  I also carry most of the beads for her projects.

A Great Start To This Year...

To start the new year I went to Tucson with Susan who owns Beads By The Bay in Morro Bay, CA. If you are close to this town, it is a must see bead store. Susan has her store packed with many beautiful beads and a wonderful garden in her back yard. You can walk around her store and then head out the back door to an enchanted garden. Her pond is beautiful, her address and phone number is, 333 Morro Bay Blvd. Morro Bay, CA 93442 (805) 772-3338

We stayed with Jenny Friske-Baer and I must say that her house and studio are beautiful! It was so great to see her and her husband and to spend time with both of them. They treated Susan and I very well, thank you again! Jenny will be at my shop for a Trunk Show on April 12,13 & 14, 2013. You will not want to miss this wonderful bead show. Jenny will bring all of her new glass beads that she makes and have them here for sale. Jenny is making new flower beads on wire and they are just beautiful, here is a picture of a few of them. Click here for Jenny's website.

Check out the classes and events for the next few months and if you are in the area please stop by and say hello. Don't forget I am closing on Monday and Tuesdays for right now. Come summer I will be open on Mondays but I will always be closed on Tuesdays. I have decided that even I need a few days off. It was a long, hard year last year and I need to start taking care of myself.

I have made up a fun word search game for you guys to try let me know how you do.

I hope health and happiness for everyone this year and may it be a stress free year for all of us!

Love, Kandra

Good News!

Go back to the doctors on January 8 to get out my stitches!  I can't wait they are driving me crazy!

The good news is it was not cancer but a large grapefruit size cyst.  When I woke up and saw Dennis smiling at me I knew it was good news.  Now I am minus my ovaries and a grapefruit and I can't tell you how happy I feel.

I really need to start making time to blog again and send out my newsletter, I am always so happy when I have done that.  My New Years resolution is to get better at making time for things like this and beading and making glass beads!

I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers and well wishes that you have sent me, it has really meant a lot to me!

I also have Jonna Faulkner coming the end of this month to teach a Goldie Bronze Art Clay class and I can't wait to learn how to use this new clay.  It is so beautiful when worked up and I haven't worked with Art Clay since Jonna came to my house in Clovis, that seems like years ago.  Jonna is the best teacher I have ever taken Art Clay from, when you leave her class all you want is another class from her, they are wonderful and she doesn't hold back anything in fact she gives you so much information that it is great!

Here is Jonna's website if you want to check out her work and a picture of what she will be teaching.
