Off to the yarn shop
I seem to have an obsession with socks right now. I just finished 3 pairs of socks and I just started my fourth pair. I'm telling you there is something about making socks that is great, maybe it is that they are fast. So off to the Ancient Pathways I go today to knit and gab. One pair of socks that I made have beads in the cuff of course. Started them 2 years ago but was afraid to do the toe without my knit group that I left in San Luis Obispo. Thanks to Meg at Ancient Pathways I have made 2 pairs and finished the socks with the beaded cuffs. www.ancientpathways.net
I will be teaching a class on the beaded face this weekend at Beads Etc. in Clovis CA. This is a two day class and will be a lot of fun. I just love Becky, the owner she is a sweetie!
I'm also thinking about having classes at my house this year and have some guest artist come and teach classes the first one will be with Jonna Faulkner, she does the most beautiful Art Clay work I have ever seen. She is also one of the best teachers I have ever taken a class with. I will let everyone know the dates as soon as she gets back with me.
Have a great day!
Love, Kandra

I make lots of socks & love them. They are portable and easy to work on when there are distractions going on like having to navigate for my husband while he drives, etc. I also love the feel of wearing them. I would love to see a picture of the socks with the beads. I have never tried that.
ReplyDeleteHi Cindy,

Hi Cindy,
ReplyDeleteI just sent you an email with a picture of my sock and where I got the pattern. I then went to your site and oh my gosh! Your work is beautiful!!! What a talented woman you are, love all your socks. I am going to learn how to make a sock from the toe up, I don't know why I want to learn that but I do. I think I just love to learn.
I will be checking your site often.

I've taken up sock knitting again too. Must be the cool weather! I actually had to rip out a pair as I made them two years apart and could not get them to turn out the same size for some reason. Now I am trying to hurry them along so I can pick up some bright colors again - these are brownish. I'd love to see a pic of your socks too. Why don't you post them here? A lot of beaders are knitters too.
